I got it in 1997 and paid $1,500 for it
Why did you choose this vehicle?
It was my Dad’s pick up. He owned it for about 50 years
What sort of condition was it in when you started the project, what was wrong with it, etc.
Body was rusting bad engine was stuck
What, specifically have you done, or had done to it?
New engine, transmission, rear end, Body repair, interior and paint
Can you list any and all parts that you have put in?
It has a dart 427 small block, 9.5 to one compression,scat crank, AFR heads, blower cam and MSD distributor
671 large bore blower with two 750 Edelbrock carburetors
700r transmission
Ford 9″ rear end w/ 389 posi traction with 15x15x29 Mickey Thompson tires on 15×14 chrome smoothie wheel’s
Where have you purchased your parts?
I have bought parts from speedway motors, summit racing. Local auto parts stores, eBay and junkyards
What about you?
I have enjoyed working on this pick up and changed my mind many times on how to build it.
Any stories regarding this project?
We in joy driving it to car shows and it has done good at the shows.
A funny thing happened at one show a couple of guys were looking and saying how nice it was when they thought it was a Ford then seen the Dodge Brothers emblem on the grill said oh I don’t like Dodge’s and walked away
Any garages, parts stores, fabrication shops, etc you want to call out specifically?
The pickup was built in my garage. Mostly by myself. Had a friend of mine help with the painting. Had the engine built.
